“Sunday School & Discipleship Ministries International emerges as an arm of the Church of the Nazarene with the mission to carry out the Great Commission to children, youth, and adults in preparation for a lifetime of being and making Christlike disciples in the nations.”
Discipleship is the heart of the church and is crucial to our growth as Christian, as well as making the gospel visible in our community life as the body of Christ. SDMI cultivates a culture of discipleship in the church and strives to teach the word of God through the existent structure. However, this purpose is first and foremost a reminder and a call for each local church to intentionally create an effective platform for discipleship.
“We believe that the task of making disciples is vast and involves dynamic processes and it requires the church to be intentional, systematic and personal in order to:
- Be a people of prayer engaged in the Word and making Christlike disciple
- Intentionally develop relationships with the unreached
- Intentionally Teach the Word of God to Children, Youth and adults so they become mature Christians. This should manifest in a life of compassion, evangelism, Christian education, and disciple making.
- Raise awareness of discipleship ministries such as Sunday School/Bible study groups, other small groups and ministries to children, men, women, etc.
“The Church of Christ is called to assume responsibility to reach out to all nations. Let us join together to reach out to our brothers and sisters in our Region so that they can also experience the blessing and privilege of living in Christ.”
