Jesus Film and Evangelism Conference in Zimbabwe

From 21-24 September 2022, participants from Zambia, Malawi and Zimbabwe gathered in Harare, Zimbabwe, to discuss the various ways to do evangelism across the nations through church planting, mentorship and orality training.

The three facilitators were Rev Tim Eby, Rev KweraKwera from Malawi and Rev Kachaka from Zambia.

Rev Eby introduced a new device called the “GoWiFi”, which allows anyone with a computer, tablet or phone to connect to it and watch or download the Jesus Film or Christian movies.

With the world changing and many people connecting on their devices to watch movies, the Jesus Film Project uses modern technology to spread the Gospel message. The participants were taught how to use it with practical demonstrations, and each participant went away with one “GoWiFi” device to use in their districts. The device need only be switched on, and, from there, anyone with a phone or computer can choose to connect to the free WIFI without a password and choose their Christian film.

This method can reach many people in public places such as schools, coffee shops, taxi ranks, neighbourhoods, and even train stations.

The teams took time to discuss and share further ideas on how to reach out to the world with the message of Jesus Christ.
