Côte d’Ivoire: Africa West Francophone Field Appoints First Female DS

 

Rev Jeannette Mukendi takes the lead as the District Superintendent of the Côte d ‘Ivoire Central District. She was appointed at the 21st District Assembly on Saturday, 24 February
2024, in Bouake, Cote d ‘Ivoire, under the leadership of Rev Moïse Toumoudagou, FSC of the Africa West Francophone Field (AWFF). Rev Mukendi is the very first woman to hold the position of District Superintendent on the AWFF.  She replaces Rev Prao Kouakou, who will assume other responsibilities.

A teacher by training, Rev Mukendi has long served in Sunday School and as associate pastor to her husband, Rev Alidor Mukendi, who is also the National Coordinator of Education (NCE) for the churches in Côte d’Ivoire. She was also the women’s secretary of the Cote d’Ivoire South District.

For the past five years, she has availed her teaching skills to the Africa West Francophone
Field as a trainer for the Freedom To Lead (FTL), one of Africa Region’s leadership training
initiatives.

Rev Jeannette Mukendi is the mother of two children: Dieudonné Ebenezer and Bienvenue
Esther.
