New Regional Strategic Partnerships Coordinator Announced

The Africa Region Church of the Nazarene is pleased to announce the appointment of Dhariana Balbuena as the new Regional Strategic Partnerships Coordinator, effective October 1st, 2024. Dhariana, from the Dominican Republic, is married to Esteban Murillo from Costa Rica, and they are blessed with two children, Etienne and Dhana. They currently serve as global missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene.

Dhariana brings a wealth of experience and passion to this role. She holds a Master’s degree in Missiology and a Degree in Theology from the Nazarene Theological Seminary of Costa Rica, as well as a Degree in Publicity and Communication with an emphasis in Creativity and Management from the State University of Santo Domingo (UASD).

Her ministry journey began at the age of 12 when she first answered her call to mission work, and she has served faithfully in various ministries and capacities ever since. Dhariana’s experience includes roles such as Regional Child Development Coordinator for the Caribbean Region, NYI Coordinator for the Spanish Field in the Caribbean Region, and National NCM Coordinator for Costa Rica. She has also served as the Regional Secretary and NCM Regional Coordinator for the Mesoamerica Region and as an Associate Professor at the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Costa Rica (SENDAS).

Beyond her regional work, Dhariana has been a Faith Teacher for children and teenagers at Kamuk School. She is also a member of the Maxwell Leadership Team, an international speaker and a coach, passionate about equipping, developing and empowering people to reach their fullest potential and fulfil God’s purpose for their lives. Alongside her husband, she has served as a Youth Pastor for the district of Costa Rica Central and their local church in Coronado, Costa Rica. Since their marriage in 2011, Dhariana and Esteban have served together in numerous ways across local churches, districts, countries, and regions.

Dhariana’s passion is to equip, develop and empower people to reach their fullest potential and become what God designed them to be.

The Africa Region extends our deepest gratitude to Hope Owens, who has diligently served as the Regional Strategic Partnerships Coordinator for approximately three years. Her dedication and contributions have been invaluable to our community.

Join the Africa Region in welcoming Dhariana to her new role. Let us come together in prayer, supporting her as she embarks on this journey. Dhariana and her family will be based in West- Central Hub (Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire).
