Malawi Church receiving the General Superintended in Style for the ordination
Living up to the name, “The Warm Heart of Africa”, 150 Malawian Nazarenes were tasked with warmly welcoming General Superintendent Dr Eugenio Duarte at the airport through singing and dancing when he arrived to ordain 22 pastors on the weekend of 10 September. The local government provided security detail for Dr Duarte as he drove to the hotel where he, along with the host DS, Rev Nixon Nzunga, were hosted by the local church through food and music.
On Saturday, 10 September 2022, an ordination service was held at Ufulu Church of the Nazarene in Area 43, with 447 people in attendance from across the country. Dr Duarte ordained a total of 22 pastors, among them seven women. The GS preached a sermon entitled, “Bloom where you have been planted and be fruitful”, with the main scriptures coming from Numbers 12:13-15 and Galatians 5:22. The church in Malawi was encouraged to continue to work for the Lord.
