NAZARENE BIBLE COLLEGE OF EAST AFRICA (NBCEA)

NBCEA is one of the Church of the Nazarene higher education institutions in Africa. It is presently developing servant leaders in ten countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, DRC Congo, Ethiopia, Eretria, and the USA. NBCEA student body comprises pastors, evangelists, and other church leaders from various denominations in the field. Our goal is to develop transformative leaders. Teaching, preaching, and practicing holiness is the main focus of NBCEA to produce transformative leaders.
On 23 April 2022, NBCEA fraternity, including members of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Musa Kunene, Field Strategy Coordinator (FSC). Dr. Elijah King’ori, the Principal, Prof. Rod Reed, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Africa Nazarene University, and other guests gathered at Ongata Rongai First Church of the Nazarene to celebrate the success of 18 ministerial students of the graduating class of 2022.
In his congratulatory message, Dr. Gabriel Benjiman, the regional Education and Clergy Development Coordinator stated a need “to continue educating and finding opportunities for growth in competencies within our characters and our context.” On the same note, Dr. Elijah King’ori reminded the graduates that “Serving the Lord is the noblest job any human being can engage in, despite the minister’s challenges. Fear not, for Christ will be with you and endeavor to accomplish what the Lord has put in your heart.”
Dr. Kunene delivered a powerful message on transformational leadership based on 2 Timothy 2:2 NIV, “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” He stated that “the church and the world of our time need transformational leaders.” Dr. Kunene emphasized that transformational leaders should be open to advise and new ideas. Just as Paul encouraged Timothy to be strong amid the various circumstances he was in, the graduating class was challenged to be strong in the Lord’s grace. Dr. Kunene said that it is essential to look at our faith before we look at the faith of others. He emphasized the need to follow Paul’s leadership philosophy of raising other leaders, insisting that there is a significant need for leaders to identify other leaders. Each leader should raise a leader.
