Africa Region Global Missionaries Commissioned
Eight missionaries serving across the Church of the Nazarene Africa Region were commissioned as global missionaries during a Global Missionary Commissioning Service held in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, on 29 September 2026, as part of the annual General Board meetings.
The commissioning recognised Ezequiel and Susy Ramirez, Stanley and Grace Ushe, Timothy and Grace Dlamini, and Musa and Prudence Kunene. Together, the four couples represent decades of ministry experience spanning pastoral ministry, theological education, church planting, compassionate ministries, leadership development and administration across Africa and beyond.
Ezequiel and Susy Ramirez
Originally from Argentina, Ezequiel and Susy Ramirez serve in Guinea-Bissau on the Africa West Francophone Field. They bring more than two decades of ministry experience to their missionary assignment.
Before serving in Africa, the Ramirezes ministered in Argentina and Paraguay, where their work included church planting, pastoral ministry, evangelism, theological education and district leadership.
Since August 2021, they have served in Guinea-Bissau. Ezequiel serves as Country Mission Coordinator, while Susy is involved in theological training, discipleship and Nazarene Compassionate Ministries. Together, they work to develop leaders, strengthen local churches and support the continued growth of the Church of the Nazarene in Guinea-Bissau.
Stanley and Grace Ushe
Stanley and Grace Ushe, originally from Zimbabwe, serve on the Africa East Field and are based in Kenya. They bring pastoral and leadership experience to their current ministry.
Their years of service have included pastoral ministry and leadership in Zimbabwe and South Africa. Stanley has served as a District Superintendent and in theological education leadership, while Grace’s ministry has included missions mobilisation, women’s ministry, education and pastoral leadership.
The Ushes were deployed to the Africa East Field in January 2023. Stanley currently serves as Field Strategy Coordinator, providing leadership across 11 countries in East Africa, while Grace serves as Field Nazarene Missions International (NMI) Coordinator, helping churches throughout the field engage in the mission of the Church.
Timothy and Grace Dlamini
Timothy and Grace Dlamini, originally from Eswatini, serve as global missionaries in Malawi on the Africa South Central Field. Together, they bring ministry experience in pastoral ministry, education, leadership and compassionate service.
Timothy was ordained in 1990 and has served the Church of the Nazarene for more than three decades in pastoral ministry, theological education and district leadership. He now serves as Country Mission Coordinator, working with district leaders to strengthen pastoral education, leadership development and church planting.
Grace’s ministry has included healthcare, pastoral ministry and programmes supporting children and families. In Malawi, she serves as the Pastor’s Kids Sponsorship Coordinator, helping provide care, mentorship and support for pastors’ families.
Musa and Prudence Kunene
Musa and Prudence Kunene, also originally from Eswatini, currently serve at Africa Nazarene University (ANU) in Kenya. Their ministry has taken them from pastoral service to regional leadership and, most recently, to Christian higher education.
Their ministry journey began in 2013 on the Africa South Field. In 2019, they were appointed as Field Strategy Coordinators, providing strategic leadership and support to districts, pastors and missionaries. They transitioned to the Africa East Field in 2021 and continued serving in leadership development, discipleship and strategic planning.
In 2024, the Kunenes transitioned into academic ministry at ANU. Musa serves as a Senior Lecturer and Research Supervisor, teaching and mentoring students in theology and ministry. Prudence serves as an Instructional Designer, supporting curriculum development, faculty training and online learning.
Sent to serve
Although their journeys have taken them through different countries, cultures and areas of ministry, the eight missionaries share a common commitment to making Christlike disciples in the nations.
Their commissioning on 29 September marked both a recognition of the years they have already given in service to the Church and an affirmation of their continuing call to global missions.
From Guinea-Bissau and Malawi to Kenya and across the wider Africa Region, the four couples continue to invest in local churches, pastors, students and emerging leaders as they serve the mission of the Church of the Nazarene throughout Africa.
