Water of Hope – NCM’s Water Well Donations Make a Difference
In a significant development, the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries in partnership with local churches in Zimbabwe West District, Bulawayo, has provided water solutions to the community amidst a severe water crisis.
The water crisis in some parts of Bulawayo, especially Ward 25, has been ongoing for over a month, with residents facing immense challenges in accessing this essential resource. However, thanks to NCM’s initiative of funding water wells, the Church of the Nazarene has been able to provide water to the community.
Residents who had been struggling to access clean water due to a City Council burst pipe were seen in our local churches receiving assistance. This helped to promote sanitation and hygiene practices within the community. It made a significant impact in addressing the water crisis and providing relief to residents.
The local Churches of the Nazarene, such Emganwini, Nketa, Nkulumane played a vital role in assisting the community and brought hope and relief to the people of Bulawayo, demonstrating the power of faith-based initiatives in addressing community needs. These local churches and other denominations managed to reach out to more than 10 000 households during the water crisis period. The local municipality government also recognised the contribution these churches had made in helping their neighbours.
We thank God for this NCM initiate and the work of the local churches in and around Bulawayo.
