Zimbabwe West District Nazarenes Gather for “Big Sunday Church Service”
On the 16 th of June 2024, over 850 Nazarenes from the Zimbabwe West District gathered in Bulwayo and the Large City Hall. Under the leadership of District Superintendent Rev J Mafohla, the service aimed to foster unity among local churches and to welcome the new Field Strategy Coordinator, Rev Cosmas Mutowa, with a theme for the day of “Holiness Unto God”. This significant event marked a long-awaited reunion for the district’s 24 organised churches, spanning across three provinces: Bulawayo Metropolitan, Matabeleland North, and Matabeleland South.
Additionally, the focus of the day was also a time of district prayer for a unified moment of prayer and reflection, Sunday School where time was dedicated to the teaching of holiness and then capped off with the main church service featuring the traditional elements of praise and worship, special items and then a powerful sermon by Rev Mutowa on “The Transforming Power of God’s Presence” from Isaiah 6:1-8. The Big Sunday Church Service demonstrated the power of unity and the pursuit of holiness within our district. May this spirit continue to guide us as we strive to serve God and our communities.
The event concluded with attendees returning to their homes inspired and committed to living a life pleasing to God.
