Calling all Nazarenes to unite in prayer from the 7th – 27th January 2019 using the 7 characteristics of a Nazarene as the prayer focus.
Dear fellow brothers and sisters,
As Nazarenes, we are people of One Book (The Bible), of One Lord (Jesus-Christ) and of One Doctrine (Holiness) and they are all united under one theme of LOVE.
In this new season of 2019, we invite you to enter in a Spirit of prayer for a journey of 21 days. You are invited to observe specific days of fasting during those 21 days.
We are looking at three major goals:
- Praying in one accord. Our Lord Jesus promised us in Matthew 18:19: “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.
- Praying with the Bible. As the Psalmist says: “Oh, how I love your law! I meditate it all day long. Your commands are always with me…” Psalm 119:97. The Bible is our Prayer Book and our Book of answers to our prayers.
- Praying with our eyes, our minds and our hearts opened to the Spirit of God. Psalms 119:18: “Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law and pray with understanding: 1 Corinthians 14:15: “I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding.”
Our prayer for you in this year 2019: May you be blessed according to Psalms 89:16: “Blessed are those who hear the joyful blast of the trumpet, for they shall walk in the light of your presence.” Psalms 89:16. (TLB)
