Women gather in Lusaka for ASCF Conference
LUSAKA, Zambia — Women from across the Africa South Central Field (ASCF) gathered in Lusaka, Zambia, from 20 to 23 August 2026 for the ASCF Women’s Conference. Held at Chalo Trust School under the Zambia South District, the conference brought together women from Angola, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe under the theme, “Rooted in Christ. Empowered to Serve”. Among the participants were women’s ministry leaders, missionaries, pastors’ wives, young women, pastors and other church members.
The four-day gathering provided an opportunity for women to worship together, grow spiritually, receive ministry training, share experiences and encourage one another. It also sought to strengthen and empower women in their spiritual lives and ministry, while building unity among women across the field.
Through biblical teaching and worship participants were encouraged to deepen their relationship with God and become more effective in serving the Church. The conference also created opportunities for women to build meaningful relationships and encourage one another in their families, churches and communities.
The ASCF Women’s Conference is part of an established tradition in which women from different countries across the field take turns hosting and organising the event. This rotation enables women from across the region to come together every two years, with the host country changing for each conference.
As the current conference concluded in Lusaka, discussions began about which country will host the next gathering in 2028.
A changed life through the Gospel
For some women, the conference was more than an opportunity for fellowship and training. It became a place of personal spiritual transformation.
“I came to the ASCF Women’s Conference carrying burdens that I had struggled with for a long time,” said Jane Banda, an attendee of the conference. “But when the Gospel was shared, I realised that Jesus Christ was not only calling me to attend a conference — He was calling me to surrender my life to Him. I opened my heart to Christ, and I left knowing that my life would never be the same again.”
Banda’s testimony reflects the wider purpose of the conference: to see women strengthened in their faith, equipped for ministry and renewed in their commitment to serving God and His Church.
