Uganda Leadership Training Conference

The Uganda Leadership Training Conference, held from 6-7 June 2025, at African Bible University in Kampala, Uganda, brought together passionate leaders and ministers from various Nazarene districts across Uganda. Themed around unity, strategy and mission alignment, the two-day conference empowered church leaders with practical insights and spiritual renewal to advance the Church of the Nazarene’s mission of making Christlike disciples in the nations.

The programme was strategically structured, starting each day with morning devotions led by Rev JoAnn Vineyard. Key sessions covered topics essential for church growth and leadership development. Rev Grace Ushe opened with a session on Mission Awareness, reminding leaders of the global and local responsibilities of the church. Dr Slingerland followed with an in-depth presentation on Field Strategy Implementation and later led a transformative session on Leadership Development. A teaching on Ministry Alignment by Pastor Seith Bogere, challenged participants to evaluate how their ministry efforts align with the overall vision of the church. This was followed by interactive team-building exercises.

Participants also benefitted from strategic discussions on Nazarene Missions International (NMI), with Rev Grace Ushe guiding a session on NMI Strategy Alignment. The day concluded with a moving evening service led by Rev Gossaye Hamda, who shared a message that deeply resonated with all attendees.

The overall tone of the conference was one of gratitude, empowerment and renewed commitment. Leaders left with a clearer understanding of their roles, a stronger sense of teamwork, and a greater passion for spreading the Gospel. As the Africa Region slogan “Tuko Pamoja” (We are together) echoed throughout the sessions, the conference truly embodied a spirit of unity, purpose and shared mission.
