Regional Announcement
The Africa Region is delighted to welcome Mrs Maryann Benjiman (Mary) as the new Regional General Assembly Coordinator (RGAC).
Maryanne is a dedicated missionary and ministry leader in Africa, committed to advancing the Kingdom of Christ. Alongside her husband, Dr Gabriel Benjiman, she has served in pastoral ministry for 23 of their 30 years, primarily within the Church of the Nazarene in Durban, South Africa.
For the past nine years, Maryann has worked in the Regional Education and Clergy Development office, focussing on theological training and leadership development. Her role includes logistical planning for Global Theology Conferences, managing Nazarene scholarships and promoting initiatives in contextual theology and pastoral leadership.
Raised in the Church of the Nazarene, Maryann began her ministry in her youth through Nazarene Youth International (NYI). She has led community initiatives that support marginalised women and children in urban areas.
In addition to her ministry work, Maryann has a background in early childhood development and risk management. Her professional experience includes logistics in the corporate sector and church administration.
An advocate for holistic ministry, Maryann enjoys running, having participated in many marathons and ultra-marathons. She and Gabe have two daughters, Karris Shalom and Eden Kelita, and the family resides in Durban, South Africa, where they continue to serve their community.
Let’s welcome Mary to the regional team. Please pray for her as she takes on the important task of the Regional General Assembly Coordinator.
