NDI Training–Kenya Rift Valley District

On 7 June 2025, fourteen pastors along with district and local NDI leaders gathered in Lodwar, Kenya, for special training facilitated by the Africa East Field NDI Coordinator, Rev Elizabeth Musimbi, and the District NDI Coordinator, Rev Aggrey Otieno. Everyone was ready for the training as the role of NDI president in the local church, the purpose of NDI, the mission of the church, the mission statement of the NDI its objectives, the core principles of Sunday School and small groups were all the topics discussed.

Important materials, such as the NDI Handbook, the church membership book, membership book for children (My Church and Kanisa Langu) and song books were distributed to those present. Furthermore, the Caravan ministry, VBS (school holiday clubs hosted by local churches) and Bible quizzing were introduced to this group of leaders. The attendees were very eager to know more about NDI and how to use the materials in their local congregations.

On Sunday morning, the Napiteti Church of the Nazarene hosted Rev Musimbi as it was Pentecost Sunday. This local church is pastored by a gentleman who is visually impaired. His wife is a great support to him as she often leads the services. Pentecost Sunday was celebrated as the pastor of the local church delivered a powerful message.

The Field would like to extend a vote of thanks to Rev Douglas Moseti, the DS of the Kenya Rift Valley District for planning the NDI training on his district. Also, a special thank you is extended to the zone leader, Rev Charles Oguta who is the pastor of Lodwar-Nabloni Church of the Nazarene, the host church of this special event.
