All Christians have a calling on their lives to be ministers and missionaries in every vocation where God has placed them. Dr Iuri Barbosa is a dedicated Nazarene from Cape Verde who happens to have an impact across the country with doors God has opened for him.
With a career marked by a commitment to medicine, general practitioner, Dr Iuri Barbosa, has gained prominence on Cape Verdean television and radio. His appearances on TV shows such as “Mais Saúde” and “Show da Manhã” have become a benchmark for communicating health issues with responsibility, empathy and language that is accessible to the public.
On Cape Verdean television programmes and radio programmes, he addresses topics such as common diseases, healthy eating, mental health and quality of life in a clear and educational manner, always in tune with the reality of the people. His charismatic presence and simple approach make it easy for viewers to identify with and absorb the content.
With his welcoming communication style, solid Christian foundation and reputable medical knowledge, Dr Barbosa is an important voice in health promotion in Cape Verde – inspiring, informing and caring, both on and off camera.
God has given Dr Barbosa this platform for him to be a godly example in his secular job and through national television. Dr Barbosa is a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Achada de Santo António – Praia, and he serves as the president of the local NYI and a Sunday School teacher. On the Cape Verde South District, he serves as the recently elected NYI Vice-President.
