Honoring the Golden Generation: Nazarene Senior Citizens Gather

On 10 December 2025, at Shibar Resort, outside of Ermelo, South Africa, on the RSA Southeast District, the Nazarene Senior Citizens gathered for a time of warmth and joy. This day was all about showering the elders with love, easing their minds and highlighting the roles they play in the church family. Kicking off in the morning, guests were treated to breakfast followed by a service led by Rev M M Lukhele, using Psalms 103:1-3 to cheer those present and recount the blessings of the past years.

As the morning progressed, Rev Lukhele also shared on the topic of healthy living. Those present were encouraged to eat healthy, take their medications correctly  and to keep moving through exercises that will strengthen their muscles and bones. Those gathered were reminded they are walking libraries who can share their knowledge and wisdom about Christian living and even church history with the younger generation.

The day finished off with a braai (barbeque/cooking meat over fire) and special treats for participants as they planned for next year’s event. This gathering was a reminder of the joy and wisdom our elders sprinkle into our lives.
