Heavy Rain in Uvira causes terrible destruction to local Church and school

Heavy rains in Uvira, a city in the South Kivu Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo, caused enormous damage to property and left many people devastated by loss. Houses were destroyed and many people lost their belongings. Rev Justin Kwibe, who is the Zone Leader for the Church of the Nazarene in Uvira, reported that the EP Nazarene School, which has 418 students, suffered a lot of damage to its property and an interruption to learning as a result of the flooding. The destruction includes all the paintings in the school and many books. This left many students and a few teachers stranded because of the damage to the boarding and learning facilities. Unfortunately, the church suffered great loss as 4 of its members reportedly died as a result of the flood.

Rev Kwibe is appealing to all members of the church, worldwide, for prayer—asking God to intervene so that the people of Uvira remain safe and also for a solution to the problems caused by the flood.
