Celebrating Rev. Paul and Beatrice Mtambo’s 14 Years of Field Ministry
On Saturday 29 July 2023, the Africa Southeast Field organised a celebration to honour and celebrate the life and ministry of the long-time Field Strategy Coordinator (FSC), Rev. Paul Mtambo and his lovely wife, Beatrice, who have served in this capacity for the past 14 years. Family and church leaders from across the field came to the Woodlands Church of the Nazarene in Lusaka to share in the joy of this event. As part of the festivities, the Caravans members put on a colourful display. Rev Mtambo was able to symbolically inspect the guard of honour before the celebration started.
There were many people who were able to share their experiences with the Mtambo’s and testify to their pastoral hearts. Rev Solomon Ndlovu, the FSC from the Africa South Field, stated that the Africa South Field are grateful to God for allowing Rev Paul and Beatrice to serve among us. The Mtambo’s eldest son, Rev Brian Mtambo, gave a personal and moving testimony about where they started and where the Lord has brought them to. He also spoke about how God has used the Mtambo’s. Speakers consistently reiterated the belief that, “God will remember us.”
Rev Mtambo was himself able to share by taking the congregation down memory lane to show how God’s hand as been with him throughout his ministry. He also shared that God had connected him with great people and together they have accomplished much. Rev Mtambo was also able to share his deep gratitude to those who had worked alongside of him throughout his many decades of ministry. As one leader stated, the Mtambo’s are retiring, but they are not “tired” of ministry and will continue to do God’s work.
