Benin: A 21-Day Spiritual Revival Culminating in 18 Baptisms at Easter

The Benin-Okpara District experienced a powerful moment of spiritual revival through the organisation of a 21-day programme of fasting and prayer in the Borgou-Alibori area. Under the theme โ€œBuilding a Strong Church โ€ (Ecclesiastes 4:12), this initiative aimed to strengthen the unity and commitment of the faithful for a more solid and dynamic church.

During these three weeks of dedication, participants fervently engaged in times of prayer, fasting, Bible teaching and evangelism. The teachings particularly emphasised this essential truth: a divided church is a weak church, while strength lies in the synergy of members, united in one spirit and one vision.

Each gathering was marked by a strong sense of commitment, reflecting a deep thirst for God and a desire to see the church grow not only in numbers but also in spiritual maturity and brotherly unity.

The highlight of this programme took place on Easter Sunday, with the baptism of 18 new disciples. This solemn and joyful occasion symbolises their commitment to walk with Christ and is a visible fruit of the evangelistic efforts throughout this period.

This time of revival was led by the district superintendent, Rev Habib Chabi, whose leadership and spiritual guidance greatly contributed to the success of this initiative. Under his direction, the activities unfolded in an orderly and disciplined manner, marked by deep fellowship.

Beyond the numbers, it is transformed lives, renewed hearts and a Church strengthened in unity that shows the success of these 21 days. This programme will undoubtedly be remembered as a season that laid a solid foundation for the future.
