From Strategy to Action: Africa South Field DS Retreat 2026

Forty participants gathered at Angelโ€™s View Hotel in Graskop, Mpumalanga, from 15 to 18 September 2026 for the Africa South Field District Superintendents (DS) and Spouses Retreat. Four District Superintendents were unable to attend and will be included in the follow-up process.

Under the theme From Strategy to Action, the retreat provided space for prayer, spiritual renewal, leadership discussion and relationship-building. Devotions kept the programme grounded in the mission of the Church, while the State of the Field presentation, departmental feedback and District Superintendent discussions helped leaders consider how the Africa South Field Strategic Plan 2024โ€“2028 should guide ministry across the districts.

One of the days, the participants had the opportunity to visit the Kruger National Park. This experience also gave participants time to rest, reflect and strengthen relationships outside the formal sessions.

The retreat reinforced the Fieldโ€™s five strategic priorities: Discipleship, Leadership, Education, Connection and Church and District Development. The next step is to translate these priorities into focused and measurable district actions.

The retreat renewed the commitment of Africa South Field leaders to work together in making Christlike disciples. Its lasting impact will be seen through the practical actions implemented in each district.
