A Miracle in Rural Kenya
In a rural community in Kenya, Joseph Mbuvu had lived to the ripe old age of 94. For 60 of those years, he had worked as a witch doctor, having begun in his youth. He never knew Jesus, and he certainly never went to church. He operated with demons and practised things that brought fear into the lives of many people. But a miracle happened in this community when the people began to pray, and God had a plan.
Through Rev. Samuel and Joseph’s own daughter, who is a member of the Church of the Nazarene, the Gospel reached him. At first, Joseph resisted. The demons he had worked with did not want him to accept Jesus, but the people continued to pray. The power of the Holy Spirit came and convinced him.
“Yes, I want to accept Jesus Christ!” declared Joseph. A resounding “Hallelujah!” was heard from those around him.
After he gave his life to Christ, the things he had used for witchcraft were burnt, and the miracles did not stop there. When his family saw that their father had been transformed, three more family members also gave their lives to Jesus that same day.
We praise God because Jesus is more powerful than any darkness. Let us continue to pray for Joseph and his family in rural Kenya, believing that this testimony will continue to transform many more lives in that community.
