Avante Evangelho 2025 – Mozambique Matola District
On Sunday, 27 July 2025, the Mozambique Matola District Centre of the Church of the Nazarene, hosted one of the most significant events in the church’s annual calendar: the great Evangelical Expansion Service – Avante Evangelho 2025. It was a day filled with spirituality, missionary fervour and unity among believers who enthusiastically responded to the call to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
From the early hours of the morning, hundreds of members from the various local churches in the district began arriving, filling the church with a spirit of joy, anticipation and reverence. Men, women, youth and children were present, forming a crowd united by a common faith and purpose: to worship God and renew their commitment to the mission of evangelisation.
The service was carefully organised to provide meaningful moments of praise, worship, fellowship and surrender. District and local worship groups and choirs sang powerful hymns that extolled the majesty of God, inviting all present to surrender in profound worship. The atmosphere was visibly marked by the presence of the Holy Spirit, reflected in gestures of surrender and fervent singing.
One of the most symbolic and memorable moments of the ceremony was the “Gospel Forward,” a solemn act in which each local church was called to contribute financially to advance the missionary work within the district. This moment was not merely administrative or ceremonial; it was a true act of faith, sacrifice and obedience. The contributions, the fruit of the believers’ hard work, dedication and generosity, represent seeds planted in the Kingdom of God, with the certainty that He will bring an abundant harvest.
In addition to a powerful message that was preached, the service also highlighted the importance of keeping the missionary flame burning in our hearts, regardless of the circumstances. It was a clear call for everyone, as a Church, to move forward with boldness, faith and perseverance, bringing the Gospel to every corner of the district, the country and the African continent.
At the end of the service, the common feeling was one of deep gratitude, spiritual joy, and renewed commitment. The Matola District members emerged from the service with new strength, new vision and an even greater determination to advance the Gospel—not out of obligation, but out of passion and conviction.
