African Leaders Attend USA/Canada M-25

From 10-12 February 2025, our Field Strategy Coordinators (FSC’s) Rev Stanley Ushe, Rev Vidal Cole and Rev Solomon Ndlovu, along with the Regional Partnerships Coordinator, Rev Dhariana Balbuena, Regional Evangelism Coordinator, Rev Tim Eby, and Regional Director Administrative Assistant, Rev Admirado Chaguala, travelled to the United States to be part of the M Twenty-Five Conference. This is the regional conference for the USA/Canada Region.

At the pre-conference, Rev Balbuena and Rev Eby had the opportunity to share some of the stories about what God is doing on the Africa Region. One of the projects that the Africa Region was able to highlight was the need to support our African missionaries who are being sent into Creative Access areas on our continent.

Rev Balbuena along with a colleague from the Eurasia Region, had the opportunity to lead a workshop entitled “Nazarene Missions Partnerships – Engage in Global Partnerships that will Challenge Your Church”.

Each leader who attended had the opportunity to connect, consolidate and build relationships with some the region’s current partners and potential partners. Africa South FSC, Rev Solomon Ndlovu, praised the event for being well organised and blessed with powerful speakers. Specifically, he spoke of the NMI aspect of the conference, stating, “The NMI was defined as the global mission advocate in every local church, nurturing a spirit of mission and mobilising [them] into action, impacting people around the world.”

Africa Region Evangelism Coordinator, Rev Tim Eby, shared what touched him most: “I believe in the power of the seed! We are called like the sower to generously sow no matter the condition of the soil. Like a crazy farmer we throw seed even in the hard places with a chance that it might bring change…I was challenged by [Dr John Maxwell’s] words that 53% of the population will never enter a church. What are we doing to meet them in the marketplace because they are not going to come to us?”

For his part, Rev Vidal Cole, FSC for the Africa West Anglophone Field, stated, “It was clear that everything they shared pointed towards leading people to Jesus. They ignited the passion for evangelism in our hearts, and that was amazing.”

It was a blessing for these leaders to be a part of the worship and to hear the Word of God preached powerfully, as well as being challenged to focus on evangelism in the most practical ways.
