AKWABA (Welcome) to the Gomis Family
On Saturday, 11 June 2022, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, the Church of the Nazarene Côte d’Ivoire officially welcomed, akwaba in local language, the Gomis family to their country.
Under the leadership of Rev Moïse Toumoudagou, Field Strategy Coordinator (FSC) of the Africa West Francophone Field, a colourful ceremony took place in the Ivorian tradition. The purpose was to make Dr and Mrs Gomis and their family feel at home in Côte d’Ivoire.
Several speeches were made including that of Rev Toumoudagou, who shared from the book of Isaiah 60:1. He emphasised the importance of shining a light into the darkness and being an example. The Ivorian church welcomed Dr Gomis and his family to their hearts and their home.
