Join us for the next event at Nazarene Theological College in Johannesburg for a weekend missions training event. Each participant will be equipped with information regarding the necessary steps to be more actively involved in missions. This 2-day, interactive event will provide mission awareness education for those interested in both local and global missions.

Whether your desire is to help your home church develop a missional strategy or you sense God leading you to serve Him outside of your home culture, this event will provide the information and interaction you are looking for.

NMO events take place in various countries across the Africa Region. Contact mobilization@africanazarene.org to find an event near you. The conference and materials are provided at no cost. Participant is responsible for food, lodging and transport.

The city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA is a very diverse city. The Church of the Nazarene has local ministries serving the greater Philadelphia area. Philadelphia First Church, located in the heart of the city, serves a community that is home to more than 100 ethnic groups.

The church is looking for 2-3 interns from Africa who can give 2 months to focus on ministering to children and youth through sports, vacation Bible school, and youth ministry events.

Requirements: at least 18 years of age, a willingness to serve cross culturally. Talents & skills we would welcome: sports, video recording & production, experience working with high-risk children and youth, music & art, public speaking, administrative. General activities are youth oriented – sports, Vacation Bible School, outreach events.

The cost for this experience includes air travel, passport/visa, medical aid (purchased through the general church), and personal tourism days. Meals and housing provided. For more information, email mobilization@africanazarene.org.


Mission Immersion is a 10-day intensive missions training event for young adults 18-26 years old who sense God leading them to serve in cross-cultural ministry. The first days focus on training and discussion followed by a cross-cultural, hands-on missions experience to give practical application to what has been learned. This event is designed to help:

Expand the world view and cultural awareness of participants
Clarify God call for their lives
Better understand their Christian beliefs and the doctrine of the Church of the Nazarene
Become more engaged in a missional lifestyle
Prepare for future global ministry service
Each participant will need to raise US$300 for the onsite expenses
plus some travel expenses such as passport and visa.
Scholarships are available for travel expenses.

The Africa East Field NYI are organizing an event to prepare young people from
East Africa in developing a missional mindset to serve beyond their community.

A huge part of this trip will be focusing on Ministry and Inner City Ministry. This event will include training and hands-on missions experiences.

In today’s world, the church recognizes the need to focus on the urban centers throughout Africa. The African regional leadership has identified key cities to place ministry teams of 3-6 members who can help reach the cities through new, innovative methods.

Each member of these missionary teams will need to raise their support
for travel and living expenses through their local church, district and family.

Requirements: at least 21 years of age, a willingness to serve in the urban core or a university setting, the ability to serve a minimum of 6 months. Talents and skills we would welcome: ministry experience, basic theological training, ability to work with a team, and leadership skills.
