Cabo Verde NYI District Presidents meet to strengthen Nazarene Youth mission
PRAIA, Cabo Verde — The newly elected Nazarene Youth International (NYI) District Presidents of Cabo Verde, Pr. Paulo Soares, from the Northern District, and Dr. Iuri Barbosa, from the Southern District, recently met for a meeting of communion, prayer and strategic alignment, marking the beginning of a new stage for the ministry of youth in the country.
The meeting represented the first official moment of sharing between the two leaders since their election and aimed to strengthen unity between the districts, promote ministerial cooperation and establish a common vision for the development of Nazarene youth in Cabo Verde.
During the meeting, the two leaders highlighted the importance of strengthening local ministries, training leaders and creating opportunities for young people to be protagonists in the expansion of the Kingdom of God.
For Pr. Paulo Soares, serving youth is a call that God has placed in his heart for many years: “It is a great privilege to serve the youth of our district, because working with young people has always been something that has been in my heart. My desire is to build a solid foundation for our youth, empowering young people to make disciples, forming a generation relevant to society, and at the same time deeply rooted in the Word of God.”
The vision presented reflects NYI leadership’s commitment to developing a spiritually mature youth prepared to exert positive influence on the church and society without losing sight of the biblical principles that underlie the mission of the Church of the Nazarene.
