Field Strategic Coordinator – Rev. Paul Mtambo
The sense of being part of a family united in love with the vision to win lost souls for Jesus is what characterizes the South-East Field of the Africa region. The field’s most pertinent mission is that of creating Christ-like disciples through sharing the Gospel. Responding to the Great Commission to win over lost souls is an imperative part of the South-East Field’s work. The countries constituting the field include Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi.
The South-East field seeks, above all else, to play a role in changing the lives of people who come to the Lord Jesus Christ into lives that reflect His character. This is enabled through various mobilization campaigns. The field uses evangelism and teaching programmes as ways to reach people and enable change in their lives.
In October 2016, a successful evangelism campaign was carried out by a team lead by the local superintendent in the Luapula Province of Zambia. The team went into the villages to show Jesus Film and engage in one-to-one evangelism in an effort to win souls for the Lord.
In addition to residential teaching programmes in Malawi, the South-East Field utilizes SDMI resources to facilitate conferences for pastors and leaders in Zambia and Malawi. From 13 to 20 May 2017, the field will break new ground in the unchartered space that is the Western Province of Zambia. A team will be sent into the area to share the message of Holiness, where the Church of the Nazarene has not yet been established.
The South-East Field engages people in both rural and urban areas, with Jesus Film having extensive reach in the former, while evangelism tends to reach souls in the latter more. The field continues to pray for Christians on the SAHEL Route and the persecuted church in North Africa and surrounding areas.
